Oil pastel is a direct mode of expression between the hand and the canvas without needing an applicator. LOUVRE oil pastels are soft, luminous and glowing. They may be worked transparently or in thick layers to obtain an impasto effect. Washes and different intensities of colour may be easily obtained by slightly diluting them with petroleum or turpentine. Layering of colours and then scraping with a blade or knife also give a superb effect. Drying time: 3 to 12 days to touch (depending on the colours) - 6 months completely. LOUVRE oil pastels may be used on all types of paper or card.
